Admission

Decide if you will be a Degree Seeking Student or a Non-degree Seeking Student

First, you need to decide if you will enroll as a "degree seeking" or "non-degree seeking" student. If you already have a masters level degree in a related field or if you wish to pursue a masters level degree from another institution, then seeking an additional degree from UWF is not necessary. If you are unsure of what you would like to do, you may start as a non-degree seeking student and then switch to the degree plan at a later date, but please note that the university will only accept 12 hours into the program from their own courses (and only 6 hours from outside the university). So if you would like to pursue a degree, it is best to apply as a degree seeking student early, prior to completion of your first 12 hours.

If you would like to complete the M.A. in Special Education from UWF, please follow the procedures listed below for the Division of Teacher Education as well as the University. This will include an application, fee, statement of purpose, letters of rec, transcripts, and GRE scores. Once accepted by UWF as a degree seeking student, you may begin your coursework in the next available semester.

Graduate Admission to UWF will include admission to:

  1. The University
  2. The specific graduate program M.A. in Special Education.

Information needed for admission to the University is available from the following link: Graduate Admissions

Information needed for admission to the M.A. in Special Education specifically can be found at the following link: Graduate Programs in Teacher Education . Please note that you are only required to fulfill the language in items A-E on the right hand side of the page. You can disregard the information as it pertains to teaching credentials.

To complete the form go the Online Campus Registration Site. Scroll down to step 4 and click on "Forms" in the text. Complete and submit the form.
